I started working at Columbus during my junior year at Villanova because I wanted to earn some extra money and they needed short-term administrative assistance. Every time I completed a project, they would find something else for me to work on and I was ultimately hired when I graduated.
The Columbus Organization partners with agencies and facilities that serve individuals with intellectual disabilities nationwide to provide quality improvement, care coordination and professional clinical staffing services. We directly impact the lives of thousands of individuals on a daily basis through our three divisions, and our team is driven by our corporate values and mission that everyone deserves a meaningful life.
At the time, admittedly I did not give much thought to the company however, with each project I worked on and as I learned about the field, I became more and more interested in continuing my career in something related to intellectual disabilities. I was majoring in business administration and Columbus was a great way to utilize my business skills while focusing on something I had become passionate about.
Honestly since I have been at Columbus for over 30 years, there are many projects that are memorable. A recent project where we needed to quickly organize a team of consultants to oversee the health and safety of over 300 individuals is one of them. I am extremely proud of how quickly we were able to start the project and the quality of the team we deployed. It was a true partnership with the state agency and our support definitely made a difference.
I would describe myself as an organized and thoughtful individual who is also sincere, flexible, and hard-working. I like the challenge of taking the time to understand what issues our partners are experiencing and designing a work plan to meet their needs.
I have worked at Columbus for over 30 years. During my time at Columbus, I have worked in virtually every department in many different roles. When I started, I was answering phones and stuffing mailings but eventually I started to manage projects and got involved in our proposals.
I grew up locally and have three older brothers and a lot of family in the area. I am married and have two children, a daughter who is 19 and a son who is 15. I am a passionate Philly professional and college (GO NOVA) sports fan.
