Columbus has conducted myriad mortality reviews in center-based and community settings throughout the country. Conducted by physicians and nurses with extensive experience in healthcare needs of people with disabilities, these comprehensive reviews assist agencies in improving clinical services and outcomes. Columbus health consultants have conducted mortality reviews in a number of states, including California, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas and the District of Columbia.
In addition to these case-specific mortality reviews, Columbus consultants have performed statewide analyses of morbidity and mortality studies. These analyses are based on national standards of practice and provide state agencies the framework for addressing trends related to high frequency medical conditions and deaths. Columbus has also worked with agencies in developing or improving their own local and system-wide mortality review processes.
