Behavioral Services Team                                                          

Melissa Richards, Director of Behavior Services. Dr. Richards has been a Columbus employee since 1998. She received her Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Florida. She has over 24 years of experience working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctorate (BCBA-D) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (Missouri). Dr. Richards was a founding member of the Tennessee Association of Behavior Analysts (TABA) and is a member of MENSA. Before joining the Columbus team, Dr. Richards served as the Central Office Behavior Analyst Coordinator for the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (then DMRS) in Tennessee.

Mary Hudson, BCBA, Team Leader.  Ms. Hudson has been an employee of the Columbus Organization since 2010. She received her Master of Science in Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 8 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Hudson serves adults and children in Davidson County

Tamae Putty, BCBA, Team Leader. Ms. Putty has been a Columbus employee since 2012. She began working for Columbus as an ABA tutor for children with autism. After receiving her Master of Education Degree from Arizona State University, she began working as a Behavior Analyst while preparing for her Board Certification exam. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in March 2014. Ms. Putty has over 10 years experience working with adults and children. She currently serves Montgomery County.

Zachary Stevens, BCBA, Team Leader. Mr. Stevens hase been a Columbus employee since 2014.  Mr. Stevens received his Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida State University. He has over 5 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He currently serves Gallatin, Nashville, and Lavergne

Andrew Buchanan, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Mr. Buchanan is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just this year.  Mr. Buchanan received his Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis & Organizational Behavior Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.  He has a wide range of behavior analytic experience ranging from children with autism to seniors with dementia.  He is currently serving adults in Davidson, Wilson, and Putnam Counties.

Anne Dodd, Behavior Analyst. Ms. Dodd has been a Columbus employee since 2008. Ms. Dodd received her Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Jacksonville State University. She has over 8 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Dodd currently offers services in English and Kiswahili and serves adults in Davidson County.

Cara Gugliemella, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Gugliemella is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just last year.  Ms. Gugliemella received her Master of Arts in Psychology from New York University and completed the Applied Behavior Analysis Certification Program at Rutgers University.  She has over 10 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Prior to joining Columbus, Ms. Gugliemella was the Director of Intensive ABA Services  at Paragon Autism Services.  She currently serves adults and children in Montgomery County, TN and Christian County, KY.

Courtney Birdwell, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Birdwell is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just last year.  Ms. Birdwell received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master of Science in Psychology – Applied Behavior Analyst track from Kaplan University.  Prior to joining Columbus, Ms. Birdwell worked as a research analyst/interventionist for Vanderbilt University, using the Early Start Denver Model to work with children with Autism.  Ms. Birdwell serves Sumner and Macon Counties. 

Cyndi Bush, Behavior Analyst. Ms. Bush has been a Columbus employee since 2007. She earned her Master of Education Degree in Special Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Ms. Bush has over 18 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She currently serves Rutherford County.

Dustin Alvis, Behavior Analyst. Mr. Alvis has been a Columbus employee since 2011. He received his Master of Arts in School Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Alvis is currently preparing to sit for his Behavior Analyst Certification Board exam. Dustin Alvis has over 5 years of experience workign with adults with intellectual diasabilities. He is currently serving the Greater Nashville Area.

Echo Chan, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Chan has been a Columbus employee since 2012. She received her Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Jacksonville State University. She has over 7 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) serving adults and children in Montgomery County. Ms. Chan offers services in English, Cantonese and Chinese.

Elizabeth Chapple, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Chapple is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just this last year.  Ms.Chapple received her Master’s Degree from Ball State University.  Ms. Chapple currently serves adults and children in Davidson County.

Emily Rolling, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Rolling is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just this year.  Ms. Rolling received her Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida State University.  She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 3 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  She currently serves adults and children in Davidson and Dickson Counties. 

Kate Baird, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Baird has been employed by The Columbus Organization since 2012. After receiving her Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Phonenix, she began working as an ABA tutor for children with autism. She then earned a Master of Teaching in Special Education Degree from Austin Peay State University. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in September 2013, ceasing her work as an ABA tutor and providing behavior supports to adults with intellectual disabilities. Ms. Baird currently serves adults and children in Robertson and Montgomery Counties.

Kip DenHartigh, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Mr. DenHartigh has been an employee of Columbus since 2010. He received his Master of Arts in Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University. Mr. DenHartigh is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 14 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He currently serves Davidson and Sumner Counties.

Lane McIntosh, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. McIntosh is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining just this year.  Ms. McIntosh received her Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education from Murray State University.   She has recently become Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  Ms. McIntosh works with adults and children in Union, Obion, and Henry Counties.

Laura Plunk, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Plunk has been an employee of Columbus since 2012. Ms. Plunk received a Master of Science in Education at the University of Tennessee – Martin and completed her behavior analyst studies at University of Memphis and Southern Illinois University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 20 years experience working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Plunk currently serves Carroll, Henry, Obion, and Weakley Counties.

Lily Darnell, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Darnell has been an employee of the Columbus Organization since 2013. She received her Master of Arts in Human Services Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has 8 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including working at the Kennedy Krieger Institute which specializes in assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with severe problem behavior. Ms. Darnell is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst serving adults and children in Davidson County.

MacKenzie Wyatt, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Mr. Wyatt has been a Columbus team member since April 2014. He earned his Master of Arts in Human Services Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis at The University of Maryland – Baltimore. He has 7 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including working at the Kennedy Krieger Institute which specializes in assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with severe problem behavior. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst serving Davidson County.

Melinda Menser, Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  Ms. Menser joined Columbus in September 2014.  Ms. Menser received a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee - Memphis and a Certificate of Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University.  Ms. Menser has over 15 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities , including working at Shelby Residential and Vocational Services.  Ms. Menser currently services adults in Shelby County.

Patty Stetler, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Stetler has been a Columbus employee since 2007. She received her Master of Education Degree in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida. Ms. Stetler has over 25 years experience working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Ms. Stetler currently serves Franklin and Warren Counties.

Rachel Shayne, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Shayne has been a Columbus employee since 2012.  After working as a Behavior Analyst in the Middle Tennessee Regional Office of the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, she joined our community team in 2016.  Ms. Shayne received her Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida.  She has over 7 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  She currently serves adults and children in Sumner, Rutherford, and Wilson Counties.

Rebecca Burton, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Burton joined the Columbus team in 2014. Ms. Burton received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology degree with a Behavior Analysis Specialization from Middle Tennessee State University.  She has over 4 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  She currently serves Cumberland, Knox, Morgan, Roane and Anderson Counties.

Stacey Huey, Behavior Analyst.  Ms. Huey joined the Columbus team in 2014.  Ms. Huey received a Master of Special Education Degree from Middle Tennessee State University.  Ms. Huey has over 10 years of experience working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is currently working towards her Board Certification in Behavior Analysis and serves adults in Rutherford, Williamson and Maury Counties.

Tara Whitlock, Behavior Analyst. Ms. Whitlock has been a Columbus employee since 2006. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Health and Physical Education and her Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) from Tennessee Technological University. While working as an Assistant Principal, she continued her studies at Tennessee Technological University in Applied Behavior Analysis. Tara is currently working towards her board certification and is serving Wilson and Macon Counties.

Tiffany Mazara, Behavior Analyst. Ms. Mazara has been a Columbus employee since 1999. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy at Southern Illinois University. She has over 18 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Mazara is currently working towards her board certification and serves adults in Davidson County. Ms. Mazara is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).

Stephanie Bailey, Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  Ms. Bailey is one of the newest members of the Columbus team, joining this year.  Ms. Baily received her Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis on Applied Beahvior Analysis from Kaplan University.  She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has over 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities.  She currently serves adults and children in the Montgomery County.
